Worth stepping inside

An eatery and an art space, under one roof

MARS opened its black steel doors in July 2026 on the Lamai ring road — a terracotta building you can’t miss, with a breeze-block crown that glows after dark. Inside: cream lime-washed walls, rattan and teak, an arched bar backed in gold, and paintings by island artists everywhere you look.

The kitchen speaks Thai and Italian in the same breath and takes its rotisserie chicken very seriously. Coffee comes as art too — ask for the printed latte art. Come for the Breakfast of Champions, stay until the Red Dust Devil Margarita.

MARS hangs original work by Samui artists — including the textured Mars disc, finished in gold leaf, that presides over the dining room. Pieces rotate, and most are for sale.

Watch for Paint & Cheers afternoons with artist Khun Yard: fifteen easels, cocktails, and everything you need to leave with your own canvas.
